I'm going to my first Atlanta Pride this weekend. Two of my straight friends are going with me, which should be interesting. It's exciting to think about being around all these people just like me for a couple of days. The thought of all the possibilities is very exciting too. I'm sure this week will drag by ever so slowly as I'm waiting for Friday to get here. But, I have no doubt that this weekend is going to be a blast.
So, Top Chef.......Clay is from my hometown. His sister was very good friend's with my younger sister growing up. He sucked ass. I felt a little bad for him because he seemed to have a look of fear on his face the whole time. It's like he knew he was in over his head. But, come on!!!! They pick a guy from Mississippi and that's the best they can do? I don't talk like that, I don't act like that, and I believe I can certainly cook better than that. Not that I have any interest in being on the show, but there are plenty of people from the south who cook great food and don't act like dumbasses. That's all I'm sayin'. I'm saving my reality show appearance for the Amazing Race. I would do that show in a second. As for the other chefs, I think they have a pretty strong field this year. I think it's time for a woman to win, and there are definitely some contenders. It will probably take a couple of weeks for me to pick my favorite though.
Today's term was inspired by the show. This was a product they used in the challenge.
Geoduck: This huge, funny-looking soft-shell clam hails from the Pacific Northwest. It averages 3 pounds in weight and is distinguished by a long (up to 18-inch) neck (siphon) that extends from its 6-inch shell. The neck can be cut or ground and used in chowders. The body meat, when sliced, pounded and sauteed, resembles Abalone.
